Arrest of Fouad Aliko of Kurdish Yekiti Party, Syria

According to – a well known Kurdish website, and the Media Centre of the Kurdish Yekiti Party in Syria, on Tuesday 2 November 2010 Syrian security forces raided the house of Fouad Aliko in Qamishli and arrested him. He is a former Secretary of the Kurdish Yekiti Party in Syria, a previous Syrian Parliament member, and the current leading member of the party. Lawyers have asked the court for information about the reasons behind his detention.
