For the 86th week relatives of disappeared people gathered in Diyarbakir

A spokesman for Human Rights Association (IHD) called for creation of a Truth Commission to investigate unlawful killings during the conflict since 1980s.

For the 86th week, relatives of the disappeared gathered in Kosuyolu Park, in Diyarbakır, continuing their demand for an accounting of missing loved ones. They have met there every Saturday since 2009, and vow to carry on until the disappearances stop and their relatives are accounted for.

Raci Bilici, a spokesman for the IHD, called for creation of a Truth Commission to investigate unlawful killings in Kurdistan.

"If the government is sincere about bringing peace to the country, they have to investigate unlawful killings and try those who are responsible before court" he said.

Bilici also called Turkish government to stop the military operations against the PKK and take certain steps to convince the PKK to extend the ceasefire.

He also condemned the police operation against Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) officials in Urfa.

At least 40 BDP officials were arrested in house raids in Urfa yesterday.
