Turkish Polices Killed 255 People over Last Three Years



In relation to violation of human rights in Northern Kurdistan and Turkey, Human Right Watch declared in a statement that over the course of past three year the Turkish Police has killed 255 people.

The killings consisted of 50 extra-judicial ones, 109 arbitrary killing under the pretext of refusing to take the police’s order and 96 people have been killed through mysterious process in the Turkish prisons.

It should be noted that only in 2009, there were 18 cases of extra-judicial killings, 48 cases of killing for refusing to take police’s order and 9 cases of mysterious killings in the Turkish prisons.
